Alternators Refrigeration Industry
Learn more about RFL Alternators.
Whether it is the pharmaceutical industry, restaurant industry or the chemical industry, refrigeration has become vital from production to storage. The global refrigeration market is expected to grow and reach about $29,000 million by the end of 2025. This staggering growth is partly a result of the high demand of refrigeration systems in the fast-moving consumer goods industry (FMCG), owing to an ever-increasing demand and consumption of processed and semi-processed foods and beverages.
Transportation of all these (semi)perishable products from warehouses to customers requires the use of refrigerated trucks and vans to avoid spoilage during transit. The difference between goods reaching the customer or the trash can, therefore, lies in the reliability and efficiency of the refrigeration systems.
Alternators and Refrigeration
Keeping the cargo in a temperature-controlled environment, either fresh or frozen, is achieved using a mobile refrigeration unit. Most vehicles now employ the use of electric units as they provide constant cooling at all engine speeds, and are more efficient at maintaining desired temperatures. Refrigeration units have a higher power demand, and need bigger alternators. The requirement of electrical power of these units is either met by batteries or a heavy-duty high-output alternator running off the engine connected via belts or a shaft.
Applications
Heavy-duty and reliable alternators are used for providing power to refrigeration units where it is feasible to run them off a mechanical energy source. These include, but are not limited to:
RFL Alternators
Mobile refrigerated vehicles are the backbone of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical transportation in Australia. We have an extensive range of robust and compact alternators suitable for supplying power to all types of mobile refrigeration systems used across the nation.
Our alternators are also suitable for industrial applications where electric refrigeration systems are used and need to be powered. RFL manufactures alternators are up to 20% more efficient than other products available in the market, giving a 15% reduction in fuel consumption (greater savings when packaged with a generator set).
RFL alternators use a patented permanent magnet design that is rapidly making the use of complex electronics redundant, and hence enabling greater reliability. We are so confident in the quality of our products that our whole range of alternators is backed by a 2-year warranty!
