The robust 2 and 4 pole, 3-phase or dual single-phase alternators have no exciter windings or diodes in the internal rotor. The alternators have no automatic voltage regulator, no external capacitors or electronics, thus removing all points of failure.

Magnetic Flux Technology
- The RFL permanent magnet alternator is more compact and lighter due to the rotor having a fully embedded permanent magnet design, rather than a wound rotor with permanent magnet end. This allows the diameter and length of the rotor to reduce significantly.
- RFL technology uses rare earth Neodymium magnets which are the most powerful commercialised type of magnet available today. The magnets are encapsulated in a protective coating to prevent corrosion and the unique rotor designs prevents demagnetisation of the permanent magnets under heavy loads and short circuits.
